Our mission is to leave every client we represent better than when they hired us and to add value for the client through our legal services. We strive to resolve legal issues and disputes in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible, using an analytical, tailored approach that best fits the facts, the law, and the parties to each case. We also practice “preventative law” whenever possible by planning for future legal issues and disputes, so we can continue to add value for our clients long after they leave our office.
ABOUT OUR PROFESSIONALS
Our attorneys have a combined 34 years of experience in the practice of law. Our practice areas include estate planning and probate; trust and estate litigation; business formation, acquisitions, and litigation; construction contracts and litigation; real estate transactions and litigation; personal injury law (plaintiffs only); civil litigation; prenuptial and antenuptial agreements; family law; and mediation. Our attorneys are licensed to practice in both Wyoming and South Dakota.

S. Gregory Thomas
Greg was born in Llano, Texas and attended school in Texas, West Virginia, Massachusetts and LaGrande, Oregon. He attended Oregon State University and graduated from Eastern Oregon State College (now Eastern Oregon University) with a B.S. degree in 1985. He attended the University of Wyoming College of Law on scholarships and graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1989.
Greg has gained broad legal experience in his career, having worked in private practice in Gillette and Cheyenne, Wyoming, for the Cheyenne City Attorney’s Office and the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities, and from 2000-2021 for the Sixth Judicial District Child Support Authority in Gillette, Wyoming. He held the positions of Staff Attorney and Director of the Child Support Authority when he retired in 2021. Greg is experienced in civil litigation, administrative law and family law. He has handled many appeals to the Wyoming Supreme Court, including the noteworthy decisions Nulle v. Gillette-Campbell County Joint Powers Fire Board, 797 P.2d 1171 (Wyo. 1990); Wyoming Worker’s Compensation Division v. Miller, 787 P.2d 89 (Wyo. 1990); and Sammons v. American Automobile Association, 912 P.2d 1103 (Wyo. 1996).

Following retirement, Greg opened Thomas & Thomas LLC, Attorneys with his son, Nolan. He is excited to offer his legal knowledge and experience to his fellow citizens of Gillette, Northeast Oregon and South Dakota.
Greg’s achievements and awards include memberships in the Wyoming and South Dakota bars; Acacia National Fraternity; Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity; Order of Pythagoras Award from Acacia (for service above and beyond the ordinary call of duty); Wyoming Child Support Association (WYCSA) Board of Directors; WYCSA Individual Achievement Award; WYCSA Lifetime Achievement Award; and WYCSA Director’s Award. He is a Special Assistant Wyoming Attorney General and a past member of the National College of District Attorneys. He is also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Mule Deer Foundation. He is an avid Wyoming Cowboys and Oregon State Beavers fan, and a member of the Cowboy Joe Club.
Greg is an avid outdoorsman and lives on his acreage in southern Campbell County with his wife, horses and dogs. He enjoys working on his property, riding, shooting and big game hunting.
G. Nolan Thomas
G. Nolan Thomas is a Wyoming native, born in Cheyenne and raised in Gillette. He attended school in Gillette and graduated from Campbell County High School in 2014. His interest in the law was piqued by attending court hearings with his attorney father, followed by mentorships with Gillette attorneys while in high school.
Nolan moved on to the University of Wyoming, where he completed his undergraduate education in three years (six semesters) and graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Economics. Nolan then started law school at the University of Wyoming College of Law.
During his law school career, Nolan was the only student in the Wyoming College of Law’s history to be named outstanding student in two different legal clinics—the Estate Planning Practicum and the Entrepreneurship & Business Law Practicum. Nolan also served as the Student Director of the Entrepreneurship & Business Law Practicum. Nolan graduated from law school and was inducted into the Order of the Coif, an honor society for law school graduates. Nolan graduated ranked in the top ten percent of his law class.
During law school, in his first summer, Nolan was a summer associate at a small single-attorney law firm in Cheyenne, Wyoming, specializing in estate planning, probate, business formation, and Plaintiff’s personal injury law. During law school, in his second summer, Nolan was a summer associate at a large, approximately fifty (50) lawyer law firm with a branch in Casper, Wyoming, where he again worked in the areas of estate planning, probate, business formation, and gained experience providing legal services for government entities and defending insurance companies against personal injury claims.

Following law school graduation, Nolan passed the Wyoming and South Dakota bar exams while working in Rapid City, South Dakota, for the second-largest law firm in Western South Dakota. In that position, Nolan worked in civil litigation involving business issues, estate administration-related issues, construction disputes, business disputes, property division in divorces, and child custody. Nolan also worked on transactional matters such as estate planning, probate, business formation, contract drafting, real estate sales, and asset purchases. Nolan represented farmers, ranchers, business owners, government entities, insurance companies, homeowners, and construction companies at this job.
Despite his fondness for Rapid City and South Dakota, Nolan felt the call to return home and serve the people of Northeast Wyoming. Nolan worked for a local Gillette attorney and represented primarily individuals and small businesses in litigation. Nolan also continued his transactional work in estate planning, probate, business formation, and contract drafting. Nolan later decided to partner with his father, S. Gregory Thomas to form the law firm of THOMAS & THOMAS LLC. Nolan continues to serve both Wyoming and Western South Dakota clients in both litigation and transactional matters involving wills, trusts, estates, businesses, personal injury, real estate, and some family law matters.
Nolan has a passion for the law and enjoys helping clients resolve disputes, and proactively plan to deal with legal problems before they develop. His hobbies include big game hunting, shed hunting, and snowboarding. He is the proud owner of a Corgi who is named Sandra Day O’Corgi, Attorney-at-Paw.
